Laura Coleson-Schreur - Licensed Acupuncturist, Certified Chinese Herbalist, Certified Animal Acupuncturist, Registered Nurse
Laura has over 35 years experience in the health care field as a Nurse, and Public Health specialist and researcher; and over 18 years as an Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist. She received a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Northeastern University; a Master's degree in Public Health from John Hopkins University; a Master's degree in Acupuncture, and a Certificate in Animal Acupuncture from The Traditional Acupuncture Institute; and a Certificate in Chinese Herbalism from the Tai Sophia Institute (formerly the Traditional Acupuncture Institute.) She is National Board Certified in Acupuncture and is also a Certified Chinese Herbalist and Certified Animal Acupuncturist. Laura has been practicing Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for more than 18 years now and has worked in Public Health research, as well as program management and nursing overseas in Africa and Asia. She previously worked as an ICU nurse as well as other nursing roles including work on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. She is an active member of the Maryland Acupuncture Society and the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Laura is currently on faculty for the Tai Sophia Institute in the Certification in Chinese Herbal Medicine program.
Allyson Jones - Licensed Acupuncturist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Certified
Allyson has been practicing acupuncture for over 10 years. She holds a Master of Acupuncture from the TAI Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts where she continues to serve on the faculty in both the Acupuncture and Transformative Leadership and Social Change degree programs. She also teaches TAI Sophia's "Redefining Health" workshops to business and community groups, both nationally and internationally. She is National Board Certified with the National Certification Commission on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Allyson's prior work experience includes nearly 10 years in clinical social work as well as child advocacy, and corporate public affairs consulting. In addition top her acupuncture degree, she holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland and a BA in Russian Studies from the University of Virginia.
Allyson and Laura continue to work and study with prominent figures in Chinese medicine. They are members of the Doctors' Speakers Bureau, a not-for profit organization providing free seminars to the public on complementary medicine.
