About seven months ago, a friend suggested to me that I try acupuncture treatment for my severely dry eyes. My eyes had been chronically irritated and extremely dry for nearly six months and I was willing to try anything to stop the pain and chronic swelling. My eyes began to improve after my first treatment and half a year later, I had an entirely normal Shirmer's Test. My eyes were once again producing their own tears! The swelling was almost entirely gone and I couldn't be happier. Along the way, I learned a lot about Chinese medicine and herbs and I can say with enthusiasm that my general heath, energy and outlook are also greatly improved. Thanks to Laura at Point Well Taken, I am greatly restored! Kim, age 47
I decided to try acupuncture because I was taking pain relievers at least once a day for kidney pain, headaches, knee pain and TMJ. My energy was also so low that I was taking a nap by mid afternoon and I was never an afternoon nap person. My Drs. did not give me any advice other than 'take this pill or that pill', and I was fed up with all the medication I was taking on a daily basis, and more medication on top of that to aid with the side effects.
I was greatly surprised with the results of acupuncture and herbal supplements. I saw results after my first treatment. I rarely take pain relievers anymore. The kidney pain which used to completely seize me at times has basically disappeared. The headaches that I have has since I was a child have also all but gone away. It is the same with the Knee pain and TMJ. I have been able to give up sleep medications and enormous amounts of caffeine. The treatments have also helped the stiffness and swelling in my hands a feet. I feel much more balanced and content. Laura is great to work with, and has explained the process to me every step of the way. I look forward to my treatments and could not be happier with the results!

I first started acupuncture to treat Firbromyalgia and Depression. Within the first week of twice weekly treatments I noticed an imporved overall wellbeing. I have continued with twice weekly treatments and have had noticeable improvement with my constant fatigue. We are still working on the body aches associated with Fibromyalgia but I do notice an improvement.
I have been passing the word on to my friends, relatives and co-workers as to how much better I am feeling since starting acupuncture. Don't be afraid of the needles; they don't hurt and it always amazes me how relaxing each treatment is. I do not see myself stopping anytime soon - if ever!

On a friend's recommendation, I started at Point Well Taken to reduce the number of common colds I had. I have had no colds since I started acupuncture treatments six months ago. Unexpected benefits include a sense of well-being...a higher level of cognitive thinking, focus and clarity. Laura Coleson-Schreur's acupuncture expertise and background as a nurse made me feel comfortable enough to begin acupuncture treatments. I am signing up for life and so should you!

I came to acupuncture treatment for pain in my right elbow due to tendonitis. I received overall relief and maintained it. When my left elbow started experiencing the same problem, the acupuncture treatment prevented it from worsening and has maintained it as well.
I started acupuncture treatment two years ago. It is a process that gives me overall well being. ~Lynn W. ~
In over forty years modern medicine has never been able to mediate an itchy dermatitis that can be so severe that I am unable to sleep for weeks on end...It was never my intention to abandon my traditional prescriptions, just enhance the relief from scratching by bringing in alternate "tools." However, in the months that followed my initial experience, I realized that I had stopped taking antihistamines altogether. My skin was clear, I was sleeping a lot better, and I was hooked on this "new" old therapy...I did not believe that it was reasonable to expect acupuncture to produce dramatic results, especially for a condition that has been as prolonged as mine. To my complete amazement, my entire "situation" improved very dramatically within 24 hours. I took no medicine whatsoever...

I started acupuncture to help with my fear of heights and associated driving phobias. My family has a history of fear of heights... I never tried acupuncture in the past, because I have been relatively healthy. So, I gave it a try in hopes of avoiding medication. I started with about 8-10 weekly treatments and began seeing improvement after 4-6 treatments.
It has been over two years now since my first visit and I currently an doing “maintenance” visits eery three months. The effects of acupuncture for me were gradual. The process of analyzing what factors contributed to my driving fears, plus the acupuncture itself, has allowed me to control my periodic phobias without the use of drugs. The needles do not hurt and the treatment provides a way for me to relax.
I am 43-years old have a civil engineering background, so I naturally try to analyze new things that I see in life. Acupuncture to me is mostly science and seems to be a credible alternative to “modern medicine”. I don’t understand why it works, but it does. I am not a “deep thinker”, but I will say that acupuncture has improved my general physical and mental health and would recommend it for anyone willing to give it a try.

I had been a sufferer of back pain for many years. It was affecting my daily life, causing me much pain. I was in the middle of planning my upcoming wedding and was terrified that I wasn’t going to be able to dance with my new husband on our special day.
Within my first treatment with Allyson, I was feeling almost 90% pain free and on my way to living a more balanced life. I continued to receive treatments, learn about acupuncture, and started taking better care of myself, eating better and sleeping better. My wedding day came and my husband Joel and I danced the night away! PAIN FREE !! Thank you to the staff at Point Well Taken Acupuncture for your time, energy, and patience.
I am a better, more healthy, relaxed person today due to my treatments. I am committed and believe in acupuncture and would recommend it to anyone, no matter what the imbalance was! Thanks a million.

Acupuncture has enhanced the quality of my life immeasurably. I have always suffered from general anxiety, that became intolerable when I left a toxic work environment to start my own business. This anxiety led to a host of other problems, such as chronic insomnia. I started weekly acupuncture sessions to treat these problems.
The beauty of acupuncture is that is so effectively treats certain conditions that Western medicine does not know how to treat without prescription medication. I was able to combat anxiety and sleeplessness without antidepressants and sleep aids. In place of chronic fear, I now feel joy.
I also credit acupuncture for my overall good health. I recently had major surgery and I recovered more quickly that I had ever anticipated. Try acupuncture. It works!

I had been reading about vulvodynia and some literature mentioned acupuncture as a possible method of treatment. A good friend had a positive experience with acupuncture and recommended Laura. Laura was the first person to acknowledge my diagnosis of vulvodynia as something real and it was immediately reassuring that she was familiar with the diagnosis and how acupuncture could help.
I have been in treatment for about 8 months and have been combining acupuncture with other treatments including physical therapy and medicated creams. I am just beginning to see improvement in my condition, which is thrilling for me. The months between beginning treatment and now were difficult - not seeing change or improvement - but Laura had explained that it might take time, so I was prepared. She also was very helpful in moments of financial concern related to my acupuncture treatments. I am confident that acupuncture is playing a critical role in the treatment and improvement of my condition

I have had osteoarthritis for at least ten years and was taking Tylenol and other non-narcotic pain medicines three to four times a day. I especially had pain during the night and was taking sleeping pills in addition to pain meds...
I began acupuncture in the spring of 2004. After only a few treatments, I began to see a decrease in the discomfort in my hands and knees. The hip joint had pretty well deteriorated, but because the rest of my body felt better, the hip pain was more tolerable. I had the surgery in late July 2004, and Laura was kind enough to make several house calls during my recovery. Those visits were very comforting to me both emotionally and for my physical recovery. I am now off all pain medications with the exception of an occasional Tylenol less than once a week.
I'm grateful to Laura for her skill, professionalism and manner. She has been a great help to me.

Acupuncture has changed my life for the better in the most profound ways. I came to acupuncture seeking physical and emotional healing from cancer survival. It was my 5th year as a lung cancer survivor and I was more depressed and fearful of recurrence than ever. Acupuncture has helped with much of the remaining pain from surgery. But it has also relieved my depression. I thought the depression would never leave and I feel very deeply that acupuncture has resolved it and that I have my life back. That dark cloud is gone. I am far from healed but as I continue down this path, I know my body will move towards wellness and wholeness.

Slow deterioration of muscles and nerves in my legs was untreatable according to physicians - except perhaps by traditional repetetive therapy with a physical therapist. I felt there was more that could be done and decided to try acupuncture.
After less than a year of treatment, my circulation has improved - my legs and feet have feeling - and my balance is better.
A few years ago I lost several people who were very important to me. With each loss, my ability to cope with my sadness became less. And my ability to cope with stressful situations became almost non-existent. The deaths of my loved ones were real and the stresses that I was facing were large.
A few years ago I lost several people who were very important to me. With each loss, my ability to cope with my sadness became less. And The deaths of my loved ones were real and the stresses that I was facing were large.
...I began to cry and I couldn't stop. I literally cried everyday. I was exhausted and all I wanted to do was sleep. I went to my doctor and was immediately started on anti-depressants. I also started counseling. They crying began to get better but the ability to handle my life remained poor. I isolated myself from everyone except my husband.
I was willing to try anything. I started acupuncture treatments and began to feel better. But it wasn't just the treatments. It was also my brief conversations with Allyson before treatment that helped. She helped me see things just a little differently. I know see that grief is a natural process in life but so is joy and happiness. A few months after starting acupuncture I was able to stop taking antidepressants. Since then I have gone through another devastating loss. This time, however, I didn't need medication.
With my work with Allyson I am able to see that I can take care of myself. Although this new loss has truly changed me. This time I know that I will be okay. I now have the coping mechanisms to see that I am sad and I do miss this person but I can still be happy and enjoy my life and my family. I no longer isolate myself and I look forward to what life has in store for me next.

I began acupuncture treatment to help with ongoing anxiety and depressive symptoms. While I think I have been a generally anxious personality type most or all of my life, symptoms of anxiety and depression became much more present following pregnancy and childbirth. The worst incidents wound up as panic attacks.
I began acupuncture in late September 2005. The results were almost immediate!! Not only did I begin to experience life with little or no fear compromising my ations and decisions, but I felt more energy, more optimism, and generally in better health. Acupuncture seemed to change how well-rested I felt in the morning; I slept better at night.
I was prone to developing recurrent yeast infections and needed to change my diet to avoid this problem. Since starting acupuncture, I can eat what I like and no longer feel the indications of systemic yeast that had been present before such as mood swings, irritability, low energy, aside from the infections.
Lastly, acupuncture and accompanying herbs have ELIMINATED what had previously been pretty severe PMS symptoms...This has given my marriage a boost! Acupuncture has improved my life in immeasurable ways.
