Allyson Jones, MSW, MAc, LAc, DiplAc (NCCAOM)
Licensed Acupuncturist
Diplomate - National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

Allyson has been practicing acupuncture for 28 years.  She treats primarily in the Five Element Acupuncture Tradition, a 2000 year old framework that seeks to simultaneously promote healing and restore balance in all aspects of a person's being --Body, Mind, Emotion and Spirit.   While Allyson incorporates some aspects of the more modern Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in her work, she finds the ancient Five Element Tradition aligns more with her whole person approach to healing.  Other modalities that Allyson may use in her treatment approach include: Nano Herb Light Therapy, Somatic Experiencing for Post Traumatic Stress Response, Scalp Acupuncture, Essential Oils, Flower Remedies, Moxabustion and Cupping.  Allyson recently began a one year mentorship in Alchemical Healing.

Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Allyson practiced for 10 years as a clinical social worker (LCSW-C) where she helped clients with a wide variety of mental and emotional concerns, including grief, anger, anxiety, depression, eating disorders and addiction.
Allyson also taught for 10 years at the Tai Sophia Institute (later the Maryland University of Integrative Health) in both the Master of Acupuncture and the Master of Applied Healing Arts programs.  In 2008, she received The Great Esteem Award for her teaching contributions.

Archibald Clydesdale Wellington, aka, "Archie"
Canis lupus familiaris
Service Dog (In training)

Please welcome Archie to our practice!  He is a sweet and somewhat shy Cocker Spaniel that will come to say "Hi" but then settles down quietly.  He works primarily on Friday mornings from 8 am - 2 pm.  He is a welcome addition after our beloved Carl filled the same role of "greeter and charmer" years ago.  We hope you will like having him around.  If you are at all uncomfortable with dogs please let us know.
